- In general, space law is a part of publc international law that governs activities related to the exploration and use of outer space, namely, outer space activities. In the 1960s-1970s, 5 space treaties (UN Space Treaties) which are the 1967 Outer Space Treaty, the 1969 Rescue Agreement, the 1972 Liability Convention, the 1975 Registration Convention and the 1979 Moon Agreement were drafted and adopted in the United Nations Coommittee on the Peaceful Uses of Outer Space (COPUOS) whose secretariat is the UN Office for Outer Space Affairs (UNOOSA).
